NO LIFT & 37’s on a JL WRANGLER – Can it be done?

null
Because the fenders on a Jeep JL Wrangler Rubicon sit physically higher than a Sport or Sahara, I’ve had a lot of people asking me, “what’s the biggest tire you can run without a lift”? Certainly, the wheel wells are quite large and even Jeep has stated that you could safely run 35’s for around town driving but would it be possible to run a set of 37’s or at least for a brief period of time? Being that Cindy and I had just finished installing a set of KMC XD231 Robby Gordon Beadlock Wheels onto our new 37×13.50 Cooper STT Pros, we decided to find out for ourselves and if you click on the link below, you’ll get to see for yourself what it looks like.

  1. Hello. Will you need regearing for 37 inch tires on the JL?

    • Nope. Unlike the JK Wrangler before, I have found the new 8-speed automatic transmission that comes on the JL to do a great job of pushing my 37’s.
